Mission Statement
The mission of the University of Washington International & English Language Programs has two parts:
- To further the learning of English among speakers of other languages and
- To promote global understanding by
- offering exemplary English language instruction, support, and services to our students
- providing a supportive work environment and professional development opportunities for our instructors, teaching assistants, and administrative staff
- contributing to the English language teaching profession by developing innovative and effective curricula and materials
- supporting the overall mission of the University of Washington and the communities it serves
