Satisfy UW English Language Proficiency Requirement
Students who have been admitted to the University of Washington, undergraduates and graduates, are screened for English language proficiency. Completion of the UW Seattle Campus Intensive English Program satisfies the UW English language proficiency requirement.

Completion of the Intensive English Program entails the following:

1. Completing these courses with a grade of at least 80 percent (3.0) in each:

  • Academic Listening & Writing 5
  • Academic Listening & Speaking 5
  • Academic Reading & Writing 5
  • Academic Reading & Speaking 5
  • Applied Academic Skills
  • Three additional upper division electives

2. Obtaining a recommendation from the Director of UW International & English Language Programs.
