Downtown Seattle is an exciting place to improve your communication skills for the tourism and hospitality industries!
You will meet other professionals in your field, and explore our museums, shops, parks, and historical landmarks as you work on your English skills.

The English for Tourism and Hospitality (ETH) certificate program will improve your ability to interact successfully with clients in English. You will

  • study language and behavior related to customer service
  • increase your awareness of different expectations about customer service
  • improve your spoken communication skills
  • increase your ability to interact with clients in writing
  • build vocabulary related to tourism and hospitality
  • learn about key concepts, trends, and issues in tourism


This 10-week certificate program meets eligibility requirements for an F-1 student visa. After completing ETH, you may qualify for the Business English Internship Class (BEIC) with a 650 TOEIC score.
