Refresh your teaching skills and boost your effectiveness in the classroom!
Join us in summer 2010 for a special professional certificate program designed to help you meet the challenges of teaching English as a Foreign Language in your home country.

I-TEFL is a 120 hour 4-week intensive professional certificate program that focuses on:
  • High-level fluency development
  • Applying language acquisition theory to methods, lesson planning, testing, and placement
  • Classroom management and student motivation
  • Observations of and workshops with expert UW English language instructors
  • Micro-teaching and presentation practice, including an independent research project
  • Visits to local area schools and/or English language learning centers
  • Building an international network of professional peers

Professional English teachers from any country are welcome to apply. This certificate program is intended to be a solid professional training experience for elementary, middle, and high-school instructors teaching English to non-native speakers of English.
