Before coming to the University of Washington in 2004, Eguchi had a long and successful career as a senior executive in the broadcasting industry. He is recognized as an expert problem solver in sales and marketing. His 34-year career with Fisher Communications, Inc., Seattle, spanned 11 different positions, including those of internal consultant and national sales manager, KOMO 4 Television, and general manager, Fisher Pathways. He holds an M.B.A. from Seattle University.
Ben Straley

Having just launched a word-of-mouth marketing solution for advertisers, publishers, and agencies, Straley previously directed marketing at Judy's Book and e-commerce at Salton, Inc. With expertise in performance-based marketing strategy development and execution, including online community development, customer acquisition, and retention, he utilizes his 12+ years of marketing, e-commerce, operations, and communications experience to assist clients in improving brand awareness online and driving business growth. Straley holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Formerly Vice President of Marketing at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle, and Director of Strategic Communications and Media Relations for Washington State University, Barnes has managed major market newsrooms in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle. He has consulted over 75 companies and television stations nationwide, has been the keynote speaker at many events, and has been quoted numerous times in nationwide publications including the books, Stories Trainers Tell published by Jossey-Bass and Victory in Our Schools by former Seattle School Superintendent John Stanford. Barnes is an adjunct marketing instructor at The University of Washington, Seattle University and City University of Seattle.
Kraig L. Marini Baker

Baker chairs the Technology, E-Business and Digital Media Department as well as the Entertainment, Sports, and Media Transactions Practice Area at Davis Wright Tremain, LLP. His areas of practice include Digital Media and Technology; Entertainment, Sports, and Media Transactions; Advertising; Intellectual Property; Telecommunications; Privacy and Security. Baker is an adjunct professor to the Masters in Digital Media Program in the School of Communications at the University of Washington and has taught "Digital Media Law and Policy."
Fred Pursell
Senior Marketing Manager, Microsoft
With IT marketing, channels and sales spanning three technology revolutions and six continents, Pursell joined Microsoft in 2004. His focus is bringing small business solutions to customers thru relationship marketing and Web-based resources. Serving in management roles for CAD and networking vendors, Pursell also has extensive consulting experience ranging from multinationals including IBM, HP, Intel, and Sun to technology start-ups and dotcoms. He holds a BA in Economics from UC Berkeley and MA in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University. Pursell serves on the U.S. Secretary of Commerce appointed District Export Council for Washington and has taught Internet Marketing and Global Marketing through UW Extension.
