Discover the artist within and develop basic skills in drawing, painting, and mixed media. Explore the technical, philosophical, and historical tools of drawing and painting. Build composition skills as you draw still life, figure, and botanical subjects. Study the basics of painting with acrylic or oil. Learn to develop a personal style and visual voice.
What the Program Covers
- Fundamental drawing skills and sensitivity to the visual elements
- Composition using a variety of materials
- Observation of light and shadow, and subject rendition through perspective and foreshortening
- Surface preparation, paint handling, spatial relationship, and structure
- Value, color, form, composition, and expression
