ITA 340 Introduction to markup languages and their role in publishing content on the Web. Students gain understanding of HTML and CSS, UNIX basics, information architecture, and Web site publishing. Other topics include universal design and accessibility (including Section 508 and the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative), online privacy and security, and the eXtensible Markup Language (XML).
Prerequisites: Experience with a computer operating system (such as Windows, Macintosh, or UNIX/Linux), standard office software file management on a PC and any Web browser.
