Elements of Statistical Methods
STAT 311 (NW, QSR) Elementary concepts of probability and sampling, the binomial and normal distributions. Basic concepts of hypothesis testing, estimation and confidence intervals, t-tests and chi-square tests. Linear regression theory and the analysis of variance. Students may receive credit for only one of the following: STAT 220, 301, 311 or ECON 311. Prerequisite: MATH 111, 120 or 124.
